Northern Plains Dance Experience

Northern Plains Dance Experience 2018 will be held June 4-15. Registration will be open March 12. Northern Plains Dance Experience offers extraordinary opportunities to train and rehearse with professional instructors from around the United States. Our faculty’s expert knowledge and training give you the tools to achieve a greater sense of athleticism, artistry, clarity, grace, speed and musicality needed to reach your goals.

Classes and activities are held Monday through Saturday at Northern Plains Dance studios in Bismarck, ND and include up to six hours of instruction each day. All dance spaces have sprung floors with professional quality dance surfaces.

The Summer Dance Experience is designed to cultivate well-trained artists. Classes in ballet technique, studies en pointe and men’s classes provide a strong foundation in classical training. Modern/contemporary technique, jazz, variations, Pilates, yoga, partnering and repertory rehearsals are also an integral part of the curriculum to develop well-rounded dancers. Special topic lectures and Q&A sessions covering a variety of dance-related topics are offered throughout the Summer Dance Experience.

The skills you learn at Northern Plains Dance Experience will give you a leg up when classes and auditions come around in the fall. Strengthen your technique and expand your dance knowledge at the premiere summer intensive of its kind in the region.

The Dance Experience program is designed for intermediate to advanced dancers age 12 and up. Enrollment in NPDE is limited to 30 students who have a desire to quickly advance their skills through immersion in all styles of dance. Registration deadline is June 1, 2018.  Dancers ages 8-11 who are interested in a summer intensive, visit the Northern Plains Dance Experience Jr. page.

NPDE is held at Northern Plains Dance studios located in downtown Bismarck at 1125 East Main Avenue. The facility features three dance studios, dressing rooms, restrooms, and a kitchenette.
Since the summer will entail some written work, students should bring a notebook, pencil, pen, etc. Students will be responsible for all personal effects brought with them to NPDE and Northern Plains Dance will not assume responsibility or liability for the loss, theft or damage of any students’ personal property.
Homestay Boarding
Northern Plains Dance is pleased to provide NPDE students with homestay host families in the Bismarck area. Families offering homestay placements have a long-standing relationship with Northern Plains Dance, and provide a wonderful opportunity for students to reside in a safe, private environment. Homestay host families will provide morning and evening meals as well as transportation to and from Northern Plains Dance studios. Upon receiving your registration and registration fee, Northern Plains Dance will introduce you to your homestay host family.
