Where are NPDE Jr. classes held?
Classes are held at Northern Plains Dance studios located in downtown Bismarck at 1125 East Main Avenue. The facility features three dance studios, dressing rooms, restrooms, and a kitchenette.

What is the daily schedule like at NPDE Jr.?
A typical day contains two and a half hours of dance classes, with a snack break in between classes for the dancers to recharge.

Is there a performance at the end of NPDE Jr.?
No, however family and friends are invited to see what the students have learned from 11:45 – 12:15 on Friday, June 8 (for those attending week 1 only) or Friday, June 15 (for those attending week 2 or both weeks).

I’m from out of town and want my child to attend NPDE Jr., is there housing available?
No, students may choose to commute from home or find housing on their own.

What should I bring with me for NPDE Jr. classes?
Students should be prepared for ballet, modern, jazz, and character classes. Remember to pack proper attire and hair accessories to maintain a professional appearance.  Including:

  • Solid Colored Leotards
  • Tights (pink/black)
  • Warm-ups
  • Ballet Shoes
  • Jazz Shoes
  • Water Bottle

What is the dress code for NPDE Jr.?
A professional appearance should be maintained at all times. Ladies should wear a solid colored leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes to ballet class with their hair pulled back in a bun. Gentlemen should wear a solid colored fitted top, black shorts or tights and black ballet shoes to ballet class. For classes in other dance styles, students are permitted to wear black jazz pants or black tights and shoes appropriate for that style. Students must wear street clothes or cover-ups AT ALL TIMES outside the Northern Plains Dance building.

What is the policy if I get sick?
In the event that an illness prevents the student from participating in multiple days of the program, a refund or tuition transfer will be given at the discretion of NPD staff if a doctor’s note is provided. The $50 deposit is non-refundable.
