Aging Gracefully
Wednesdays | 11:30am-12:30pm | $49
Aging Gracefully is a vibrant, senior-friendly dance program designed to promote mobility, balance, strength, and overall well-being in a comfortable, supportive daytime environment. Over the course of four weeks, participants engage in gentle, adaptive exercises—both seated and supported standing—drawing inspiration from modern, ballet, and social dance styles. Each week builds on the last, allowing participants to steadily develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence. Dance movements help build strength, flexibility, posture, and coordination, while also reducing fall risk. Gentle aerobic activity promotes cardiovascular health and joint mobility, while stimulating mood-boosting endorphins. The atmosphere is warm and inclusive, encouraging self-expression, social connection, and a sense of community. No prior dance experience is required—just wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
Aging Gracefully: Mobility | February 4-25
Aging Gracefully: Dance for Seniors | March 4-25
Aging Gracefully: Ballet | April 1-22
Aging Gracefully: Mobility | June 3-24
TAP-PY HOUR Workshop
In Tap-py Hour you will learn the basics of tap dance, experience different rhythms and throw in a little cardio just for good measure. Whether you have danced before or have always wanted to learn, you will be challenged in this class. If you don’t have tap shoes when the class starts, bring hard soled shoes (not sneakers) to dance in.

how do class punch cards work?
Once you have purchased your card, you may begin taking classes immediately.
Class lengths will be dependent on how many sign up, but classes will always start at the scheduled start time.
3+ attending: 1 hour 15 min class
2 attending: 1 hour class
1 attending: 45 min class
what should i wear to class?
We keep it simple for our adult students. It is best to wear fitted clothing that won’t “ride up” when you are moving around. Yoga pants or sweats and tanks or t-shirts are perfect. Women should wear hair secured in a pony tail. For ballet classes, we recommend you purchase ballet shoes (we have some available at the studio). For Wedding Dance Workshop and B.Y.O. Broadway, sneakers are acceptable. We ask that your shoes have not recently been worn outdoors if you plan to wear them for dance class.
can an absolute beginner take adult classes?
Absolutely! Most of our adult students are beginners. These classes are designed to be fun and educational for our adult students. No previous dance experience is needed to participate.
recreational classes
Northern Plains Dance’s recreational classes offer a variety of dance styles for beginning teens and adults. Just because you didn’t study dance as a young child – or stopped before you realized your full potential – it is never too late to experience the joy of dance. Absolute beginners welcome. No experience necessary.

dance with us
“I truly enjoy NPD’s adult classes. Not only are they a great form of movement and exercise, they are also inspiring and the instructors take time to break things down and explain in a way a person at any level can understand. I’m hooked – I keep coming back!” – Ali (adult NPD student)
